Island Women is a diverse group of local women with many talents and resources who, through community action, has the objective to enhance the quality of life on Pleasure Island for residents and guests by:

• furthering community outreach to provide a safe and healthy environment; 
• promoting education, cultural expression, and mentoring among women; 
• promoting environmental improvements that encourage healthy lifestyles; 
• enhancing the appearance of public spaces; and
• participating actively in the design and implementation of a community master plan to encourage thoughtful development.

These objectives shall be carried out by members and volunteers who commit themselves to work under the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors, as stated in the Bylaws of Island Women, Inc.

The business and objectives of Island Women shall be managed by a Board of Directors numbering seven (7) and composed of four (4) officers (President, President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer) and three (3) members at large.
